Documentation Department of the History of the City and Port
The Documentation Department and the Port of History contains documents, photographs, postcards, plans, maps, posters and advertisements, and artifacts. Reports show not only the emergence of the port and the transformation of the village in a modern city, but also the political, economic and social Gdynia, its administration, culture, education, sport, etc., especially in the interwar period.

Art Department
Art Department collects art objects that focus city, its history, political life, business, education and culture, such as images, graphics, graphical matrices, sculptures, medals, bookplates, textiles. A large proportion of these collections we owe the families of artists working in Gdynia and the associated city art lovers who wanted to share their collections to serve its residents.

Department of Science and Education
Department of Science and Education operates popularization, individual provides information to visitors and organized groups, maintains constant contact with media and schools, informing undertaken by the Museum of the City of Gdynia ventures. Department organizes exhibitions and museum lessons for schools of all types, readings and talks by the agreed upon topics including the history of Gdynia and the broader history of Pomerania. Department staff at the request of schools participate in contests of knowledge about Gdynia. For some exhibitions, Science and Education Department organizes art competitions for children and the lessons aloud. Rents and photographs related to the history of the city and the port.
Together with the City of Gdynia in the building department by the office of the Gallery "Town Hal". Department has more than 100 ready-made exhibition of photographs documenting the appearance of the town in the years 1920-1939, the destruction of the port in 1945, a collection of documentary films, slides collection of thematically related to the history of the city, up to date in the video documentation of events conducted in the city, organized by the Museum Exhibition and preserved in small numbers in the city of old appliances and buildings.
Preservation Workshop
The workshop to be given full facilities maintenance performed on a paper (such as documents, photographs, maps, posters, watercolors, gouaches, prints and books), maintenance of conservative metal objects, leather and wood disinfestation exhibits. This also carries out work for the museum Bookbinding (protective boxes and folders).
