History The Museum of the City of Gdynia

Functioning in Gdynia at the end of the 30s The City Museum has been revived after the Second World War. The first plan to fill this gap appeared in 1961, when the electoral program of the national councils put a password to establish the Museum of Gdynia. Its main task was to gather historical documentation on the town and port, mainly photographs and publications, and conducting heritage of the city. In the mid-70s outlined concrete plans for the establishment of a separate department instead of a museum facility. We managed to realize them in the early 80s Once granted approval in December 1982 by the Ministry of Culture and Arts, 6 January 1983 the President of Gdynia, pursuant to an order called the Museum of the City of Gdynia.
